ATT fixed Wireless review
ATT Fixed wireless uses a U-verse gateway router 5268AC with custom firmware.
It uses a special antenna IFWA661 NetComm Wireless Limited Outdoor LTE Router
with a POE injector. FCC ID https://fccid.io/XIA-IFWA661
Most of the setup options in the gateway that you normally see online for a 5268AC have been removed no port forwarding is allowed. most of the setup screens are missing.
You can plug in a router and disable the firewall and get a IP outside the routers ips but it will be a 10.116. private ip not the external IP, its unknown if the antenna is creating this ip or of a external server is. but no incoming connections are allowed even with the firewall off. You are behind some type of firewall you cant access and its not in the modem.
I am using a external router and have it set as firewall disabled WAN IP sometimes it gets the 10.116.x.x ip sometimes it gets 192.168.x.x ip once it actually gave the router the external ip but that went away fast.
The modem indicates Current radio band LTE Band 30 – 2300MHz which I am told is reserved for fixed wireless no cell phones are on this channel.
So this is actually a LTE radio operating on BAND 30 reserved for fixed wireless.
Speedtest is most always 60 down 22 up Ping about 60 Which is about the same as cellular since the signal is coming off the cell tower.
So far everything works fine but as reported in the forums it reboots every 25hrs ATT service has come out and replaced the modem but that didn’t fix it.
