A13 MID Tablet Driver (Historical Archive)

This page documents a driver package I created years ago for the A13 MID Android tablet. These low-cost tablets were widely sold between 2012 and 2014 and were known for having poor or missing USB drivers, especially on Windows XP systems. Because official support was inconsistent, I built a working driver package that allowed users to connect their A13 tablets for file transfer and ADB access.

About the A13 MID Tablet

The A13 MID was a budget Android tablet based on the Allwinner A13 chipset. It ran early versions of Android Jelly Bean and supported three USB connection modes. Unfortunately, many units shipped without proper Windows drivers, leaving users unable to transfer files or use debugging tools.

Why This Driver Was Needed

At the time, no official driver package existed. Many users were stuck with:

Unrecognized USB devices
ADB not working
Mass storage not mounting
Windows XP lacking automatic driver downloads

To solve this, I created a modified DBM driver package that worked reliably across Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7. Vista and Windows 7 could often download drivers automatically, but XP users needed a manual install.

This driver package is preserved here for historical and reference purposes. It may still work on surviving A13 tablets, but the hardware is long obsolete.

Installation Notes (Historical)

To install the driver on Windows XP:

Select the bottom USB mode on the tablet before connecting
Connect the tablet via USB
When prompted, point Windows to the extracted driver folder
ADB and mass storage should function after installation
